Selection Criteria and Requirements
The applicant:
- Has state authority over policy, funding, and/or staff implementing programs for children birth-3rd grade
- Demonstrates personal commitment to growing their leadership skills
- Can articulate personal and professional goals
- Can meaningfully assess personal strengths and areas for growth
- Committed to building human and organizational capacity to move forward agency’s early childhood education policy agenda
- Can identify agency goals for improving programs and advancing its vision for Birth – 3rd grade reform
- Presents a strong proposal for a job embedded policy-related project
The applicant must provide the following:
- Signed approval for release time for 4 in-person meetings
- Signed approval to travel out of state
- Formal commitment to phone meetings with assigned coach
- Personal dedication to leadership and management development
- Completion of a job-embedded, policy-related project associated with your agency’s vision for early learning
- Membership in NAECS-SDE if accepted as a CEELO Leadership Academy participant
- Assurance that flights to all meetings will be provided by the applicant’s agency
- Willingness to be part of an Academy alumni group that contributes to future leadership academies
